On 9 August 2003, at the Oceanside home of President Lillian Cross and her husband Ken, our chapter held its annual Summer Get-together. (This event lets chapter members keep in touch during July and August when the chapter is dark.)
Chapter members, husbands and friends turned out for a sunny day of food and camaraderie. The thumbnail above shows GySgt Ron Talamantes manning the barbeque grill with great flair.
As shown in the photo above, food not requiring the services of the grill was set out in the kitchen of Ken and Lil Cross so everyone could help themselves. Chapter members who attended brought a special dish to share.
The photo above shows chapter members, guests and husbands enjoying their lunch outdoors on a warm, sunny Oceanside summer afternoon.
Our Summer Get-together also contained a surprise
for expectant mom Isela Talamantes (Vice President and wife of GySgt Ron
Talamantes) who will be giving birth to her second child (a daughter) in the not-too-distant
future. Isela was given a surprise baby shower by our members. She is shown
unwrapping presents in the photo above. |
